Our very first publication, "MANO" is finally here!
In autumn 2025, Takaaki Mori from COFFEE COUNTY and Hitomi Moro, a writer/linguist embarked on a journey to unveil the diversity of
Peruvian coffee. They travelled through the wildest paths in the most remote regions of the Andes to conduct face-to-face interviews with
23 producers/members of cooperatives in Inkawasi and Cajamarca, entirely in Spanish.
What they discovered through an epic research was immense;
the origin and the mother tree of an enigmatic varietal SL-09, series of personal stories told by the producers through intimate
conversations, a glimpse into the fermentation experiments by a COE-winning producer, and the future of agroforestry.
This zine is an exploration and documentation of the wisdom passed by Inca civilization and indigenous community, the spirit of Peruvian people,
and its folkloric values. Then ultimately, it is a portrait of Mother Earth and the people who sincerely devote their life to coffee.
A book you'll want to keep for good.
